Songs always seem to pop into my head.  It’s so random, and so welcomed at the same time.

Today, when I was about to clean some clams, a tune from South Pacific popped in my head, and before I knew it, I was snapping my fingers, and singing along, ad-libbing my own words.

I’m gonna wash that sand right out of my clams…….

Shellfish come with a mass amount of sand in their shells.

Naturally.

To get the clams, or any other shellfish, to release the sand (spit it out), simply follow these steps:

1)  Put the shellfish in a bowl and cover with water.

2) Add 2 tablespoons of flour to the water and stir to distribute.

3)  Let shellfish soak in flour water for at least 5 minutes

4)  Drain and rinse shell fish, and cook however desired.
