There are a million different ways I wanted to lead in this blog post. I was going to start off by thanking each and every one of you. Yes, you! For clicking and sharing and commenting and in-boxing me all about how you are enjoying Brooke’s Garden House series! For that, I am so grateful. Truly, I am. Hello episode 5!!

Brooke’s Garden House, the series, is proving to be a very popular one here at Farmhouse 1820.

I was also thinking that I could to start off and ask how a hen could be so interested in a builder and his truck? Like, sniffing all around RTB’s truck, and being all “micro manager” while clucking around his work table. A little too noisy.

Yes, this too.

Really, I just want to share that Episode 5 of Brooke’s Garden House is LIVE! There’s lots of RTB commentary, along with another guest appearance from Tina Turner, the hen, herself.

We accomplished a lot this week. A lot of really noticeable upgrades, like all of the windows are framed in!

The roof is three quarters installed!

Painting the priming on has begun!

In case you are new here, you can catch up by watching previous episodes here, here, here and here.

Making Progress!

We are this much closer to the garden house being dried in!! I know I have overused the word surreal, but my inner thesaurus can’t come up with a better word. Seeing this thing being built, it’s like an amazing thing unfolding before my very eyes.

I don’t even care how corny I’m sounding right now, I’m just being completely honest.

RTB was here three full days this week, and everyday he was here working, so much got accomplished. Brooke’s Garden House build went from not really being able to picture it, to OMG, this thing is is going to be pretty kickin’!!

Of course there have been more challenges along the way. Things like running out of studs and having to order more for delivery, to unwavering and ever-changing schedules, and still having to deal with the kids’ school being taught virtually because of the pandemic. Each day the grocery list gets added to for materials we had no idea would be factored into what was needed. Par for the course.

The Designer Makes A Visit

My friend, Melissa, who drew my garden house plans on CAD, stopped by for a visit, to see how her design was coming to life.  She drew my garden house plans two years ago, which makes the timing for, and the building of my garden house, that much sweeter. RTB walked her through the build, and explained every board, every screw, and the entire thought-building process.

Bottom line, it’s on target. RTB has added much of his own design, which I feel, makes my garden house so much more genuine.

Unique.

Tranquil.

A place to go not only for entertaining, but for inspiration.

My solace.
