Random thoughts on this a-little-chilly-for-summer, Saturday morning…
1.The tomatoes in our garden are coming in like gangbusters. I harvested over 8 pounds yesterday, and roasted them off in the oven to then freeze. While one sheet pan was cooling on top of the stove, our dog Piper sneaked in and licked it clean. Needless to say I was a little peeved.
2. We have a hen in our flock of chickens that crows. And, she lays an egg almost every day. Anyone else that keeps chickens have a hen that crows? Odd..
3. One of my favorite summer pleasures is a soft serve vanilla ice cream cone. There’s a local place that makes the best ones. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed one every night this week, and might just get another one tonight. Guilty pleasure at its finest.
4. I was stopped at a busy intersection the other day, and a guy dressed in a suit was holding up a sign that said “I’ll work for $50K a year” and was passing out his resumé. I thought that was kinda clever. I hope someone hires the guy!
